Woburn Lionesses v AFC DUNSTABLE LADIES BLUES FC

 

 

The first game of 2015 saw the blues visit Woburn Lionesses. The ladies welcomed Claire Kenna to the team who impressed on her debut despite having not played for some time. The rest of the team featured Kirsty Scott, Becca Lightfoot, Lauren Swinnerton, Beth Cusack, Shannon Planson, Emma Wells, Laura Mimer, Georgie Liscio, Charlie Peters, Keira How and Cj Wakefield.

 

The ladies got off to a great start and kept the opposition quiet for the first 30 minutes. Dunstable then got the break they deserved when CJ Wakefield was put through in attack and selflessly squared the ball across to How waiting at the back post for her to happily slot the ball home. The lead was sadly short-lived and a lapse in concentration saw 4 goals conceded in the space of 10 minutes leaving the half time score 4-1 to the home side.

 

The second half, despite some good attempts sadly saw the blues give away several more easy goals, and despite further goals coming from Wakefield and Liscio following good link ups between them and the midfield, the final score was another disappointing blow at 12-3.
